Covent Garden-based post facility Storm has upgraded its flagship finishing suite for 4K deliveries.
The room has been equipped with a custom-built Strongbox DX-G Resolve rig, 65-inch LG 4K OLED display and Dynamic Drive Pool 10Gb shared storage.
Storm said the set-up is now capable of grading 6K Red Dragon footage in real time.
Storm co-founder Paul Ingvarsson said: “We’ve been working with 4K and higher resolution acquisition for a while but with the increased demand for UHD delivery we needed to make sure we could work as fluidly with 4K timelines as we can with HD.
“The Strongbox DX-G with dual 12GB Nvidia GPU’s is a beast of a machine that can easily handle 6K media and will substantially improve our ability to deliver 4K projects - it really flies.”
Storm recently delivered three-part natural history series Wild Sri Lanka in 4K for Terra Mater studios in Austria for TX on Nat Geo Wild.
Its recent HD productions include Tiny Tots Talent Agency for Channel 4 as well as Caravanner of the Year and James May: The Reassembler, both for the BBC.
