With an inter-axial distance of 45mm the PMW-TD300 can shoot 3D at distances as close as 1.2m. Sony said that together with its compact design it allows for filming where space might be limited, such as music, documentaries or short films.

The camera features dual 1/2” 3x CMOS sensors and a 3.5” glassless 3D LCD screen for picture evaluation.

The PMW-TD300 uses Sony’s XDCAM EX codec and can record over six hours on SxS cards by using 4x 64GB SxS cards.

It will be available across Europe in November.

Meanwhile, Sony announced that its F65 CineAlta motion picture camera will be priced at €38,000 (£38,000). The 8K camera will be available to buy at the end of 2011.
