Molinare and One of Us were among the winners at this week’s Bafta Craft Awards, picking up a gong for their work on The Crown.
The two London facilities were chosen in the Special, Visual & Graphic Effects category having provided post-production and visual effects on the Left Bank Pictures-produced Netflix historical drama series.
The Molinare DI team created a bespoke workflow to help VFX sit in to the grade over the 10 hour 4K series. Molinare’s Asa Shoul graded the show, working on costume and makeup tests with both series DoPs and the onset DiT to ensure all departments were confident of the approach and look of the series.
One Of Us completed over 400 visual effects shots across 10 episodes, with Ben Turner as VFX supervisor, Tom Debenham as consulting VFX supervisor, Standish Millennas and Kim Phelan as VFX producers.
