Post-production talent agency Soho Editors is to plough around£4m into expanding its business worldwide, to cover the Middle East, West Coast USA, South Africa and Ireland.

The rollout of six extra branches of the agency, which is taking place from now and throughout the new year, will include adding around 1,500 to 1,600 post-production freelancers to Soho Editors' books, including editors, telecine operators and colourists.

Soho Editors managing director David Brady said the company's continued growth was the main thrust behind the expansion and that post-production is "not about thousands of pounds of kit or property, it's about raw talent and securing that talent".

The Farm is also about to launch into the talent hire business early next year. A "shop-front" site in Soho has been pinpointed for the fledgling agency which will initially represent editors and, in the future, other key craft and creative staff. Branded as The Family, it will be managed by Christine Peacock, previously managing director of the group's DVD facility, Squash.
