IBC 2015: SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) will present a technical session on Ultra HD at IBC in September.
The “UHD: Where Do We Stand and Where Are We Going?” session will feature broadcaster case studies on UHD.
Speakers will include Sony Pictures Entertainment chief technology officer Spencer Stephens and EBU head of media production technology Hans Hoffmann.
Ericsson’s SVP of technology, TV compression, Matthew Goldman will moderate the session which will take place on Sunday 13 September in the Emerald Theatre as part of the Advances in Technology conference stream.
Goldman will also host SMPTE session “Breaking the Codec: Are Current Video Compression Standards Enough?” with a panel comprised of SMPTE Fellow David Wood, current chair of DVB groups in 3DTV and UHDTV, and past chair of the World Broadcasting Union Technical Committee.
The session will also take place on Sunday in the Emerald Theatre.
