Global cycling event will be televised by Eurosport and through OTT app FloSports
Madison Sports Group’s cycling tournament, the Six Day Series has revealed its broadcast deals for the 2019/20 season across linear, subscription, OTT and streaming platforms.
The series will be available in 100+ countries with Eurosport (a long-term partner of Six Day Series) will continue as lead broadcaster, and the BBC, for the first time, will broadcast the entire Six Day Series live on BBC Sport and iPlayer, beginning with the London event this week.
In the USA, MSG has reached an agreement with OTT platform, FloSports, with the series streamed live and on-demand via FloBikes.com.
Additional broadcasters picking up the cycling series include Fox Sports Asia, Channel 7 (Australia), Sky New Zealand and Twitch.
MSG chief executive James Durbin said: “The profile of Six Day Series has increased steadily since launch in 2015, largely down to our broadcast partner strategy. We have grown our global audience year-on-year through tactical multi-territory and local broadcast deals spanning free-to-air and paid channels. Cycling at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games drives high TV ratings and with it being an Olympic year next year, we believe the 2019/20 season will deliver our highest ratings to date.”
