SIS LIVE has won the multi-million pound contract to provide production and technical facilities for coverage of the Commonwealth Games in India next year.
Prasar Bharati, the Broadcasting Corporation of India, awarded the contract after an open tender process that saw 10 bids from companies around the world.
Under the terms of the agreement, the former BBC Outside Broadcasts division will provide all OB facilities including as many as:
- 42 flypack production kits,
- 18 big MCRs and 12 smaller MCRs,
- 400 camera channels,
- More than 1,000 personnel.
17 different sports plus the opening and closing ceremonies will be covered in high definition across 12 venues in Delhi.
Doordarshan, a subsidiary of Prasar Bharati, is the host broadcaster for the games.
SIS LIVE managing director David Meynell said: “This is a significant win that confirms our position as one of the select group of companies that are able to do an event of this size and complexity.”
