SIS LIVE will deploy its new OB 3 outside broadcast truck for ITV’s Wednesday night coverage of the Uefa Champions League next season.
As revealed by Broadcast (03.07.09), SIS LIVE recently won a tender to provide facilities for the broadcaster’s live coverage, a contract that was previously handled by 021 Television.
The former BBC Resources division will use its newest trucks to provide coverage for the competition, as well as for the Europa League, the replacement for the old Uefa Cup.
All Champions League games will be captured in HD with 5.1 surround sound, while Europa League games will be captured in a combination of HD and SD using OB 7.
SIS LIVE managing director David Meynell said: “We will also be collaborating to pioneer new technical innovations and camera angles to offer people the best possible viewing experience.”
OB 3 and OB 7 are both based around a 3G capable Evertz EQX matrix and feature a Sony MVS-8000G video switcher and a Calrec Sigma Bluefin digital audio mixer.
OB3 can accommodate up to 20 Sony HDC-1500 multi-format cameras and up to three Sony SuperMotion slow-motion cameras.
