Sennheiser UK will base its London 2012 Olympics audio support team at Alias Hire’s premises next to the Olympic stadium.

Two service engineers and one on-site support engineer will be based at the Hackney Wick site for 12 weeks from 25 June.

Sennheiser UK engineering and technical services manager Tim Sherratt said: “We will operate a drop-in centre for repairs and servicing of wired and wireless equipment, a retuning service for radio frequency (RF) equipment, RF venue site surveys of venues, frequency calculation and emergency on-site support.”

Stocks of key equipment will also be held on site for purchase.

Alias Hire managing director Mike Smith said: “During the Olympics, both sets of staff will be working very closely to ensure that Sennheiser’s equipment runs without hitch, particularly during the opening and closing ceremonies.”
