Visual Data will launch a TV and film content management platform called VIDA at the Media Production Show (MPS)..
A secure SaaS option for finished masters, VIDA also includes version management and sees metadata and associated assets held in an EBU core database structure.
Based on technology from Tedial, it can be used stand alone or in conjunction with Visual Data’s suite of managed media services and works with Aspera, Telestream, and Vidcheck.
Symon Roue, managing director of Visual Data, described VIDA as “an online enterprise-class content-management platform based on a Tier 1 broadcast MAM that is usually the preserve of a state broadcaster.”
He added: “Having previously built our own MAM and learnt the hard way we spent two years evaluating every media asset-management system on the market and Tedial’s was far and away the most versatile. So we’ve worked with Tedial to configure, integrate and build a SaaS platform highly customised to the needs of the global digital media supply-chain. We are confident it will become the gold standard for TV and film content management.”
All3Media International will be among the first companies to use the service when it adds it to its global content supply pipeline.
Claire Feeney, head of content operations at All3Media International, said the platform will help the company to manage the international delivery of its “ever growing master assets and supporting versions” particularly as it moves into delivering more 4K and IMF packages around the world.
Visual Data will show VIDA on stand 352 at the Media Production Show on 13-14 June at Olympia, London
