Soho visual effects house Rushes has created a CG version of the legendary Loch Ness monster for a one-off BBC specialist factual documentary. Steve Leonard's Search for the Loch Ness Monsterexplores the myths and mysteries surrounding the loch and features specially created scenes of divers swimming with the CG monster. Rushes head of 3D Jonathan Privett, discussing the visual effects work, explained: "The addition of Steve into the CG elements gave us an added challenge as it is impossible to film underwater in Loch Ness, due to the atrocious visibility, so we had to create the full water environment in CG, shoot Steve blue screen, and add him into the Loch." The sequences were completed using Maya, Boujou, Shake and Mental Ray.
