Root6 has moved its machine room out of the company’s Wardour Mews HQ and relocated it in Volta’s data centre in Clerkenwell.
The ‘proof of concept’ exercise sees dark fibre being used to connect the Soho-based reseller and integrator to the data centre where there are 40 virtual machines running Avid Interplay production, asset management systems and the workflow automation tool ContentAgent.
“An increasing number of our customers are contemplating such a hybrid approach so we needed to assess the viability of such a move and evaluate the technologies involved,” said pre-sales engineer David Skeggs.
