Peel Media has appointed Red Bee Media programme director Paul Clennell as the chief technology officer for MediaCityUK in Salford.
At Red Bee Media, where he has worked since 2003, he was responsible for the migration to Broadcast Centre of BBC, UKTV and BBC Worldwide Channels.
He is currently exclusively focused on the transfer of Channel 4’s operations from its central London HQ to Broadcast Centre.
Clennell will take up his new role at MediaCityUK in the autumn.
Bryan Gray, chairman of Peel Media, said: ” This is a key appointment for MediaCityUK and Paul’s vast experience at both the BBC and in the commercial sector will be a great asset to our team.”
Clennell said: “I’m very excited at the prospect of joining Peel Media on a project which has international significance for the media industry. I’m looking forward to working with the team at MediaCityUK to deliver a truly world class media community in which technology plays a pivotal role.”
Phase one of MediaCityUK is scheduled for completion in 2011.
