Red Bee Media has signed a deal to extend its access services agreement with the BBC until 2019.
The media management firm, which already provides subtitling, audio description and signing services for the BBC’s portfolio of channels, will produce around 60,000 hours of access services every year for the broadcaster.
Red Bee Media director of access and editorial David Padmore said: “Red Bee Media has a long and positive history of working with the BBC and we are delighted to continue our relationship for the next seven years.
“We believe that TV should be accessible to everyone and we’re proud to work with the BBC to deliver the highest quality subtitling, audio description and signing services to the British public nationwide.”
In May, Red Bee secured a contract to supply BSkyB with live and pre-recorded subtitles.
