The former BBC broadcast unit has signed a contract worth£1m and will design the title sequences and information graphics for an event that will be seen by the majority of the country's 1.3 billion population.
The work includes a stylised image of a diver set against the backdrop of the Water Cube aquatics centre in the Chinese capital.
The deal marks a breakthrough year for Red Bee in which it has opened offices in Beijing and Singapore. It was also the creative force behind the successful re-branding of UKTV channel Dave.
