Procam has completed a £250,000 upgrade to its production flypack offering.
The hire firm’s Portable Production Unit (PPU), which used to accomodate six cameras, is now capable of supporting 12 cameras.
The upgrade includes Sony RCP-1500 control panels, a Tektronix 7200 waveform monitor, Sennheiser Diversity 2000 Series wireless microphone system, HD SDI monitors, a 72 x 72 Blackmagic Design router a Yamaha DM2000 audio console and Dante stageboxes.
“Our original PPU was able to use up to six cameras,” said Procam head of project management, Nick Badham.
“Since then, we have been asked to cover larger events with greater camera numbers, which in turn requires more complex audio requirements and solutions to accompany them.
“Now with the upgraded PPU in place we are able to take on larger and more prestigious productions with ease, at a standard that experienced OB directors, camera operators and sound supervisors are accustomed to.”
The PPU was recently used during the production of ten-part NBC comedy series Before The Morning After from the Edinburgh Festival.
