An extension for video editing applications such as Final Cut Pro and Vegas Pro.

What is it? An extension for video editing applications such as Final Cut Pro and Vegas Pro. PluralEyes for Premiere Pro (Windows compatibility) was released in August 2010 and Mac OS X Premiere compatibility was released in November. It is currently in beta for Media Composer.

What does it do? It automatically synchronises audio and video clips on projects where the sound is recorded separately from the pictures, such as those shot using video-capable DSLR cameras.

How does it work? By analysing the audio content of media files, it determines how the two should synch. It promises to be frame-accurate even when the audio quality is poor. PluralEyes claims to be able to synch every segment within a sequence without the need to reslate the camera when it restarts.
