Niall O’Driscoll becomes senior vice president in LA office
Lovestruck High indie Studio Lambert has promoted its UK head of unscripted development Niall O’Driscoll to a senior US-based role, as part of a series of promotions.
O’Driscoll has been appointed senior vice president, development and current with responsibility for all US development and production, reporting to executive vice president Jack Burgess.
He has worked at Studio Lambert since 2014, with credits including Channel 4’s The Circle and Naked Attraction and Prime Video’s Lovestruck High.
Before joining Studio Lambert he was development assistant producer, entertainment and popular factual at Tuesday’s Child Television, and previously held roles as development researcher at the BBC and production assistant on Coronation Street.
Burgess said: “Niall is one of the most talented creatives in our industry and has been central to all of the success we have had over the last few years.”
Deputy head of development Harry Knott (previously Harry Garne) replaces O’Driscoll in the role of UK head of development, unscripted.
Knott joined Studio Lambert’s development team in 2015 and played a key role in the creation of shows including BBC2’s Race Across The World, C4’s The Circle, Prime Video’s Lovestruck High.
His other credits include BBC2’s Dragons’ Den, C4’s Mary Portas: Secret Shopper and ITV’s Undercover Boss.
“Harry has a brilliant development brain and has long been due this bigger role,” said the indie’s creative director Tim Harcourt.
“His pre-existing relationship with Niall means we now have a genuine transatlantic development team that can drive us to further success both in the UK and the States.”
Talent promotion
Meanwhile, talent executive Rose Hibbert has been promoted to head of talent at Studio Lambert North in Manchester.
She joined Studio Lambert in 2017, having spent more than a year as a talent manager at People In Production. She has predominantly worked on casting for factual entertainment and structured reality series. Hibbert will report directly to head of unscripted, Studio Lambert North, Darrell Olsen.
Olsen said: “Rose is a star who has been brilliant at not only recruiting the best talent for our Manchester productions, but across all Studio Lambert shows nationwide. This promotion reflects her exceptional work.”
Season four of the former C4 series The Circle launches on Netflix this week, while new Prime Video format Lovestruck High launches on 18 May.
