Pebble Beach has launched Lighthouse, a web-based remote management and monitoring dashboard for the company’s Marina automated playout platform.
Previewed at NAB, Lighthouse extends Marina’s functionality to those outside a broadcast facility and offers control, monitoring, media management and system configuration tools via configurable web-based dashboards.
“Lighthouse offers a powerful view into the Marina automation system for users who may be away from the standard client interface or not normally need that level of access,” said Pebble North America general manager Eric Openshaw.
“For users with control privileges, accessing and controlling a channel from any location with Lighthouse makes unattended operation safe, and worry-free for senior staff.”
Lighthouse is built on JavaScript and HTML5 technology and is designed for PCs, tablets and mobile devices. It can span multiple Marina systems which may be running different software versions and be operating at different frame rates.
Lighthouse is deployed as a node.js webserver on a Linux operating system. Pebble said it can provide host hardware but that many users prefer to deploy commercial off the shelf server hardware, or implement Lighthouse as part of a virtualised infrastructure.
