Panasonic has made its high definition studio camera the AK-HC3500 available to the European market.

Director of Professional AV Europe at Panasonic Christian Sokcevic said the HD studio camera is Panasonic’s first step into the studio business in Europe, and “will be followed by further developments”.

Created for direct-to-air broadcast applications, the camera offers 1080-59.94i and 1080/50i image acquisition.

It features three 2/3” 2.2-megapixal IT-CCDs with a single-channel transfer system, 14-bit A.D converter, a 38-bit digital signal processor LSI and spatial offset processing.

“In the mid-term we will not only offer a portfolio of products but also system solutions for the studio and live production industry,” he added.

The camera will be available at the beginning of next year for €36,000.
