Panasonic will move its Experience Centre out of Pinewood at the end of the month.
The manufacturer is shutting down its Pinewood base in favour of an overhauled demonstration suite at the company’s UK HQ in Bracknell.
Panasonic System Networks Company UK and Ireland general manager Nigel Wilkes said: “The facility was originally opened at Shepperton Studios back in 2008 to demonstrate the P2 workflow and remove any myths about the technology.
“In 2009, Panasonic moved to Pinewood Studios to continue its mission to be at the forefront of tapeless technology, and the Experience Centre has worked well, with thousands of visitors and hundreds of productions companies, freelancers and major broadcasters trained there.”
The new demonstration centre will feature a wider range of products; as well as broadcast equipment, it will include displays, projectors, phones, security systems and range of Toughbook devices.
“The infrastructure is already available in Bracknell and this allows us to bring all of Panasonic’s technologies together under one roof and show our customers that we are a full systems provider.”
The Pinewood Experience Centre will close on 28 February with the new centre in Bracknell due to open in April.
