A prototype of the first commercial 3D television set from Panasonic.
What can it do? Currently just a prototype, the 50-inch 3D plasma TV is capable of showing images at 1,920x1,080 resolution. It also has a new high-speed display system that boosts picture response times without sacrificing brightness. It should be available to buy next year for less than £1,500.
How does it work? The TV quickly switches between left and right frames of the video being shown. Viewers wear active glasses that switch in-sync with the TV so that the right image is seen by the right eye and then the left image is seen by the left eye.
