Ostmodern has revealed that its Skylark content management system was used to build the new BBC Player subscription video on demand service.

BBC Player is currently available to StarHub and TM Net subscribers in Singapore and Malaysia showing content from BBC Earth, BBC Lifestyle, BBC First, CBeebies, BBC World News, and BBC Brit.

Skylark provided the framework for rolling out the on-demand access and includes content curation and editorial workflow tools.

Ostmodern chief executive Tom Williams (pictured) said Skylark allows channels to offer a “highly personalised experience for their subscribers to drive content discovery, escaping the problem found with other VOD services where viewers only ever explore a small part of the overall library.”
