Broadcast graphics systems company Orad Hi-Tec Systems has opened a sales and training office in Brentford, West London.

Headed by former Snell and Wilcox channel manager David Dowling, the new facility will provide demonstration suites and support for Orad's broadcast graphics products.

"The opening of this new facility represents a substantial commitment by Orad to the UK market," said Dowling who becomes UK managing director.

"Orad is well-known in Britain for its dominant position in the virtual studio sector, but our aim is to work closely with broadcasters here to build on that reputation by implementing outstanding solutions based on our market-leading products for channel branding, 3D character generators, elections graphics, sports, and news."

An Orad 3DPlay channel branding system was recently installed at Red Bee's broadcast centre in West London that will be used for Channel 4 services.
