Streamer greenlights second run of hit reality series Inside

Netflix is backing one of the UK’s biggest YouTube groups The Sidemen, commissioning a second series of their reality show Inside.

The group launched the long-form series earlier this year on YouTube. It sees 10 influencers and reality stars confined to a house for a week, competing in challenges in a bid to win £1m.

The seven-episode second series will debut exclusively on Netflix.  Production has already begun in the UK with a group of content creators. A first series of a US version will also go into production soon.

Both series will land next year, with series one also set to be made available on Netflix.

UK-based entertainment studio and agency Cowshed Collective is producing the second UK series of Inside.

Both versions will be produced by Sidemen Productions’ Victor Bengtsson, Jas Marva, Anna Sirius and Henry White. Cowshed Collective’s George Cowin and Ryan O’Shea will exec produce alongside The Sidemen - Ethan ‘Behzinga’ Payne, Harry ‘W2S’ Lewis, Joshua ‘Zerkaa’ Bradley, Olajide ‘KSI’ Olatunji, Simon ‘Miniminter’ Minter, Tobi ‘Tbjzl’ Brown and Vikram ‘Vikkstar123’ Barn.

British group The Sidemen produces a variety of videos across their YouTube channels with a combined total of more than 100m subscribers.

They said: “When we came up with the idea of Inside, we knew we wanted to shake up the game. We all grew up watching reality TV and are big fans of the drama and jeopardy that come with it. Combining that with a prize fund and the challenges that our fans know us for, we knew people would be hooked. We are so proud of the first series and now with Netflix on board for a second season and a US version, this is just the start.”

Cowshed Collective co-founder and chief exec Cowin said: “This commission marks a huge shift in the entertainment industry. At Cowshed Collective we have again proven that we can produce landmark reality series which not only draws millions of viewers, but also engages a community and influences cultural narrative across platforms. We will continue to disrupt the entertainment industry with a quicker, more efficient production model that really delivers.”

The first series of Inside has over 5.8m views and the show has over 38m views in total. It featured stars including Love Island’s Chloe Burrows and Made In Chelsea’s Liv Bentley.
