NEP Visions have completed a run of flypack operations which culminated in a visit to Bagram Airforce base in Afghanistan.

The UK crew joined forces with Fox Sports and Armed Forces Entertainment to provide HD facilities for a two houre ‘FOX NFL Sunday Special’ which gave US audiences a look at the day to day life of a frontline base while allowing the troops to meet their NFL heros. The kit was transported on a military transport C17 to Bagram from locations in the East and West coast of the US and from the UK.

Visions supplied all the technical flypack infrastructure, Kayak mixers and LDK6000 HD cameras, hotheads, Calrec Zeta mixing desk and fibre kit to enable Fox to complete a nine camera coverage of the show in HD 720P.

Brian Clark, technical projects director said, “We had very little technical difficulty on site. The engineering team did a great job prepping this project and setting up in cabins designed by Visions on behalf of Fox Sports.

This is not the first time FOX NFL Sunday has originated from a military setting.  In December 2000, two shows were broadcast from the flight deck of the USS Harry S. Truman.

Visions are part of the NEP Broadcasting group, the largest OB operator in the US.
