Brief: Create a 30 second spot to promote MTV’s competition to win a trip to Malta, home of the Isle of MTV music event.
How it was done: Previous animations for the campaign have always used 2D hand drawn characters; this animation transforms them into hairy 3D models using a combination of 3ds Max and After Effects. The narrative pays homage Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror IV. The lead animator was Chris Packer.
TX date: From 11 October on MTV.
