Brief To grade and complete 40 VFX shots on a drama doc about the Apollo 11 mission.
How it was done Moonshot is a blend of archive and newly shot material. Ascent’s objective was to get the various formats to blend seamlessly. Archive material varied from standard 16mm reversal, 16mm negative through to 2-inch NTSC videotape. The newly shot elements consisted of HDCAM with PRO35 and super 16mm negative. It completed the grade using Da Vinci 2K plus with defocus to emulate the look of the 1960s’ material.
Watch it 25 July on ITV1 (repeated from 20 July)
