Molinare has completed the first stage of a £1m investment programme with a series of upgrades to its two main audio suites.

Molinare managing director Julie Parmenter said the expenditure would bring the rooms into line with its grading theatres, which were renovated 18 months ago.

The upgrades include an S-5 Fusion Control Surface, Avid Pro Tools HDX and version 10 software, and a Pro Tools-based Euphonix DSP system.

HHB division Scrub provided the kit, while Munro Acoustics redesigned Dubbing Theatre A with the addition of 7.1 sound monitoring and a larger, five-metre projection screen.

The technology in Dubbing Theatre B has also been refreshed with a Pro Tools HDX upgrade and a matching JBL Screen Array surround system.

Parmenter said: “Improvements to other suites will follow. The work won’t be as drastic but will be significant, and we’re looking at upgrading our Baselight and Avid suites.

“There will be continuous investment over the next 12 months.”
