The London Playout Centre (LPC) has invested a seven-figure sum in a new playout suite dedicated to the UK and South African Sci-Fi channels.

LPC transmits more than 15,000 hours of Sci-Fi channel (which is operated by Universal Studios Networks UK) content every year and the brief for the new suite was to provide "robust, tape-based playout with the ability to maximise secondary event options", according to LPC.

Pro-Bel Compass and MAPP automation technology has been installed in the suite with Pinnacle servers employed for all interstitial material. Two Sony Flexicarts deliver programme content.

LPC client manager David Candler commented: "Our success is down to the success of our customers."
