Duplication facility Loft London has spent£400,000 opening a second arm called The Clinic that will move it into HD.

The Clinic will offer duplication for all HD formats including HD SR, HD Cam, HD D5, and NTSC and will also benefit from an Alchemist Platinum Phc and an HD ProBel matrix.

It has also installed two HD/SD Digital Rapids system which enable ingest, transcode and delivery of multi-format material.

Loft London was set up a year ago by joint managing directors Jeremy Bronitt and Daniel Martin and originally specialised in SD formats including one-inch, D5, D3 and Digibeta.

The expansion has seen it double in size, move into HD and employ new staff, including Anne Trotman as head of production.

The team currently comprises six staff with seven freelancers, but will expand to eight permanent staff shortly.

Loft London is based in Kennington, SE11, and Martin said: “Although it's only 12 minutes by tube from Soho, our rate card certainly benefits from the location.”
