Weekday show pulled from schedules following contributor’s death
ITV has pulled The Jeremy Kyle Show from the schedules until further notice while it reviews an episode featuring a contributor who died shortly after filming.
The daytime staple was pulled off air just before today’s planned 9.25am broadcast and replaced by an episode of Dickinson’s Real Deal.
ITV is to carry out an investigation into the episode of the show, which will now not be broadcast.
An ITV statement said: “Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends.
“Given the seriousness of this event, ITV has also decided to suspend both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this episode of the show.”
The Jeremy Kyle show, which airs each weekday morning, is an ITV Studios production and has been broadcast on ITV since July 2005.
