ITV and mobile operator 3 have signed a one year content partnership agreement covering shows including I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

The deal covers live TV as well as clips from high profile regular shows.

Content will be made specifically for the mobile platform, including highlights and behind the scenes footage. For example, mobile viewers will now be able to see the bush tucker trials from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here on their handsets before they air on terrestrial TV.

ITV chief executive Charles Allen said: "With big entertainment shows like these people increasingly want to get the latest gossip and content between shows.

"So we are delivering more of our quality content to viewers on their mobiles and online, supporting our programmes, and allowing viewers to access the latest content wherever and however they want it."

Allen pointed out that new revenues would be generated from the streamed video and clips.
