Pluto TV seals UK and Canada NBCU content deal

Pluto TV has picked up cult US comedy Psych for its UK service as part of a content deal inked with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution for Britain and Canada.

The partnership will see the AVoD and FAST platform broadcast major NBCU hits in the UK and Canada, alongside the launch of fresh FAST channels in these territories.

All eight seasons of hit USA Network detective comedy-drama Psych will air on the newly created Pluto TV Comedy Drama channel in the UK, as well as CBS titles: action series Scorpion and comedies The Millers and The Odd Couple.

In Canada, the AVoD’s FAST channel More Pluto TV will air all series of NBC smash Will & Grace, fellow sitcoms Becker (CBS), Wings (NBC) and Dear John (NBC).

The shows will air on their respective channels in the UK and Canda from today (1 November).

The free-to-view broadcaster is also launching two FAST channels in the UK and Canada in the forms of Pluto TV 80s Action and Pluto TV Sci-Fi. The former will air classics such as The A-Team, Knight Rider and Miami Vice, while the latter will feature Quantum Leap, Sliders and Battlestar Galactica.
