Raw Cut Distribution lands sales of C5 plane disaster doc ahead of Mipcom
Raw Cut plane disaster documentary series Terror at 30,000 Feet has sold to Australian and Dutch broadcasters ahead of its launch at Mipcom.
Commercial broadcasters Nine Network in Australia and RTL Nederland have both picked up the six-part docuseries, while negotiations between Raw Cut Distribution and broadcasters in North America and Europe are ongoing.
The series launched on PSB Channel 5 earlier this year to 680,000 (6.4%), matching the slot average but with an increased audience share. It is understood there are plans for more programming in 2025.
Terror at 30,000 Feet tells six stories of crew and passengers battling against the odds to save people from near-certain disaster. The 6 x 60-minute series uses drama reconstruction and immersive first-person interviews with those involved in the incidents
Raw Cut Distribution will be shopping the series at next week’s Cannes showcase, fresh off the sales house’s debut in Broadcast’s Distributor Survey, which saw it post revenues of £1.3m in 2023.
Head of distribution Alex Colebeck told Broadcast: “Terror at 30,000 Feet is a great series with stories that resonate across the globe capturing the heroism of people in the air battling to stay alive.
“We’re glad we were able to help fund the show to get it on air without compromising on quality. It’s a decision that is already paying off.”
