Paris Unscripted Showcase will be held in April next year
France TV Distribution, Mediawan, Banijay France, Dreamspark and Satisfaction are among companies that have joined forces to launch a new Paris-based event slated for next year.
Paris Unscripted Showcase will be held 28-30 April and will see 13 French producers and distributors working together to “unveil the best of their creations for linear, platforms and digital” to buyers, organisers said.
Arpagon, 2P2L, Can’t Stop Media, Effervescence, M6 Formats, Tooco, Webedia and WeMake are also signed on as founding partners of the event, which will take place in central Paris. A location has not yet been revealed.
Organisers have billed the event as “an international meeting place for professionals in the production of unscripted formats”, adding that buyers from the US, Europe, Australia, China, Africa and the Middle East are expected to attend.
Participating companies will offer bespoke events offering exclusive content, tailor-made sessions, and opportunities to creators, reflecting a similar approach to that employed by organisers of the UK’s London TV Screenings.
Gameshows, entertainment, talk shows, social experiences, reality, factual and magazine-style programming will all feature.
“This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the innovation and diversity of French and European unscripted formats,” organisers said.
“This event marks the beginning of a strengthened collaboration between formats producers and broadcasters on an international scale, meeting the actual expectations of the global market.”
France is home to several TV sales events, including Unifrance-run Rendez-Vous and RX France’s MIPCOM.
Paris Unscripted Showcase’s launch will take place a year after the final MIPTV in Cannes closed its doors. Organisers RX France have since launched MIP London, which will run in tandem with the London TV Screenings at the end of February.
