Kinetic Content has positioned itself as the world’s relationship format specialist. After the global impact of Netflix tentpoles Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On, the Red Arrow Studios-owned US indie’s latest offering is Love For The Ages.

Like its predecessors, the series is centred round a buzzy hook with a prurient undertone, as couples aim to discover if fading passions can be reignited by a younger flame.

Three husbands move in to live with six beautiful young single women, while their wives share a separate house with six hot young single men.

Romantic connections are explored through dates and activities designed to foreground their age differences. After the first week, a dramatic pairing ceremony takes place where six new mixed-age couples are formed, sending the six unselected singles home.

Married contestants undertake one-on-one meetings with their spouse’s new younger partner, as well as potentially tense double dates, while family and friends visit to judge the fledgling relationships. All six couples eventually move into one house, with the spouses planning romantic dates.

A month later, the married couples make the life-changing decision: recommit to their marriage, or part ways forever.

The series is a launch title for Telemundo’s new content pillar on Peacock Tplus – aimed at young, US-based, Hispanic viewers.

“It’s bringing a different angle to the table,” says Red Arrow Studios International managing director Tim Gerhartz. “It’s fun and frothy, with just the right amount of controversy to make it a hit.”

Despite the saturation of dating shows globally, there remains plenty of headroom for buyers, especially with a format “viewers haven’t seen yet”, says Gerhartz.“It’s a genre that works incredibly well and also has a spectrum of content that is successful for different reasons.”

He is confident that Love For The Ages has opportunities in every territory, as either a finished tape or format. “Experience tells us that those shows travel,” he says. “People question their relationships in every country in the world, so the premise will resonate across the board.”
