London-based Rankin has been made executive vice-president of content development and commercial strategy, with oversight for all development strategy across BAS.

In her new role, she will have a particular emphasis on creating and financing multi-genre unscripted and scripted originals as well as building inter-company collaboration across BAS’s development and distribution units.

Previously, she was executive vice-president of commercial strategy and content financing, having joined the company last year after its acquisition of Marblemedia where she was EVP international and executive producer. She also spearheaded the growth of Marblemedia’s distribution efforts via its sales division Distribution360,

Matthew Hornburg, co-president of BAS, said: “Diane has a rare mix of creative and commercial vision, coupled with an extensive international network and deep respect from her colleagues and industry peers.

“Her new focus at the studio will amplify the team’s efforts in developing world-class content for the market, and that we continue to develop relationships with the best possible partners.”
