Sarah Mottershead to take on Robin Pollok’s remit covering Middle East among other regions
Banijay Rights has hired StudioCanal exec Sarah Mottershead to oversee sales in the Middle East, Africa, Israel, Greece and Cyprus.
Mottershead, who will be based in London, becomes vice-president and will lead the distribution division’s sales strategy across the regions, reporting into executive vice-president of EMEA sales and acquisitions, Claire Jago.
She replaces Robin Pollok, who is understood to be leaving Banijay Rights at the end of the year.
Mottershead was previously VP of TV series sales at StudioCanal TV, working across Central and Eastern Europe, CIS, Africa and Asia. Before that, she held roles at Fremantle and Shine International.
Jago described Mottershead as “an experienced television executive with a wealth of knowledge and will be a huge asset to Banijay Rights in these pivotal markets.”
Mottershead added: “Banijay Rights’ vast catalogue of truly stand-out programming is renowned across the international content industry so I’m beyond proud to join this incredible team and work across these important territories.”
Banijay Rights’ slate ranges from Survivor, Big Brother and MasterChef to Peaky Blinders, Rogue Heroes and Marie Antoinette.
