Extra module will help production staff with likes of transport and social distancing
ScreenSkills is offering free online training to help production staff return safely to work.
The ‘Coronavirus basic awareness on production’ e-learning course addresses issues such as transport, catering, social distancing and sanitation.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate valid for six months, which will then need to be renewed after another half-year has elapsed.
The course’s development is supported by ScreenSkills’ High-end TV Skills Fund and the BFI as part of the latter’s Future Film Skills strategy.
“This training is designed to help everyone on a production keep themselves, their colleagues and their environment as safe as possible in the face of new challenges presented by the coronavirus,” said ScreenSkills chief executive Seetha Kumar.
“We want to support the UK’s screen industries to continue to make great film and television by providing simple tools and information so that the risks are minimised and managed.”
ScreenSkills has partnered with training organisation Skills for Health and safety consultant First Option on the courses.
Elsewhere, the industry training body is also to launch a series of discussions on film management and logistics, working in tech and craft and shooting high-end drama.
