O’Shea will be tasked with developing a new slate of films and series for international networks and streamers, as well as forging relationships with international distributors and co-pro partners.  He will also assume executive producer duties and report to Indiepics’ managing director Conor Moloney.

The new international chief began his career in-house at RTÉ and then spent 15 years in London and Bristol, working across a variety of series producer and producer/director roles. He has worked with the likes of Arrow Media, Windfall Films, Raw TV and Blast TV, with credits including Britain’s Flying Past and Red Arrows – Inside the Bubble (both for BBC2), Escape to Costa Rica (Channel 4) and Lost Cities Revealed with Albert Lim (Nat Geo).

Moloney said: “We are hugely optimistic for the future of unscripted and Indiepics’ potential in a big global market. Eoin’s creative experience on premium content for some of the world’s biggest players make him a standout hire for us. Couple that with those wily Kilburn-to-Kerry roots and you have someone well placed to find, develop and produce great Irish content with truly global appeal.”

O’Shea said: “Ireland is bursting with amazing stories, epic landscapes, and world-class storytellers. It’s the perfect place for making films and television shows. Indiepics has been doing it domestically for over 30 years. Drama has already proved it can be done on a global level. And there are great strides being made in studio-based shows for the international market – why not factual and factual entertainment?

“I’m convinced there is space for new, world class, unscripted producers, in Ireland. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best doc and factual producers in the world. And I hope a little bit of their magic has rubbed off.  There is every reason to think Ireland can be a significant player in this market. We have all the ingredients.”
