Production has stopped on Big Talk’s Noel Fielding-fronted highwayman comedy
Apple TV+ has pulled the plug on the second series of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin after production had begun, Broadcast has learned.
It is understood that shooting on the Big Talk Studios show has ceased at Sky Studios in Elstree, and that issue was around talent availability, specifically that of lead actor Noel Fielding.
Broadcast revealed last summer that the comedy had been commissioned for a second series. S1 writers Jon Brittain (The Crown) and Richard Naylor (Red Dwarf) returned for the second run, alongside Noel Fielding, who also exec produces.
ITV Studios-owned Big Talk was producing with Kenton Allen (Rev, The Outlaws and Victoria Grew (Back, We Are Not Alone) exec producing for the label with Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners) – who also directs – and Anthony Wilcox (This England). Jennie Fava was producing.
Apple TV+ has been approached for comment.
