Film & TV Charity launches cost-of-living financial tools

The Film and TV Charity has launched a range of financial tools to help people in the industry navigate the cost-of-living crisis. 

The charity has partnered with financial support service MoneyHelper on the initiative, which is targeted at freelancers who may have less certainty around their income, and those in full-time employment who are also facing significant pressures.

The tools, which can be accessed via the charity’s website, include a Budget Planner, Bills Prioritiser and a Savings Calculator. 

The tools have been launched to complement the charity’s existing support for those with an urgent financial need and the eligibility criteria for Stop-Gap Grants can be found here.

Additionally, the charity’s free and confidential 24/7 Film & TV Support Line provides industry workers with access to a team of advisors to offer guidance or listen to problems. 

The Film and TV Charity chief executive Alex Pumfrey said: “With the cost-of-living crisis and rising energy bills causing grave concern, we want to ensure that everyone in the TV and film industry has access to the best advice and guidance possible. Our new financial tools aren’t a magic bullet to the cost-of-living crisis, but they do offer a greater ability to plan and manage finances and ultimately strengthen resilience”
