Gorilla Group has opened its new post-production facility at Porth Teigr in Cardiff Bay.

The company has taken 12,000 sq ft of space over three floors at the newly-opened GloWorks building, consolidating all of its operations and technical departments onto one site in the process.

Facilities at the new site comprise 40 Avid Suites, nearly half a petabyte of shared storage, a Baselight grading suite and 5.1 Pro Tools dubbing studios with ADR and voice over capabilities.

There is also dedicated space for QC, file delivery and archive services.

Gorilla managing director Richard Moss said: “Moving to this new site has given us the flexibility and room we need to expand in order to service the ever-increasing needs and tight deadlines of our clients.

“Consolidating our existing businesses and designing from scratch a facility suited to today’s post-production environment was both a wonderful challenge and an opportunity for radical improvements”.

GloWorks is the Welsh Government’s new hub for the creative industries.

The 32,000 square foot development is next to Roath Lock Studios, the BBC’s 170,000 square ft drama production studio complex and opposite ITV Wales’ new Cardiff Bay HQ.
