Fujifilm has launched an LTO-7 tape after successfully completing the interchange testing for the LTO Ultrium generation 7 format.
After passing the assessments, Fujifilm can now use the format trademarks on its LTO technology products. Sony also passed the test, which is run by the LTO Program Technology Provider Companies: Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM Corporation and Quantum Corporation. LTO-7 tapes will offer data transfer speeds of 750MB/s and have a storage capacity of 15TB (6TB for non-compressed data).
