Online service to connect crew and facilities companies with job opportunities
Screen Yorkshire has unveiled a platform that will help productions in the region crew up and find local supply chain companies.
Managed by the body’s Film Office team, the service will run alongside its pre-existing location service to assist production in Yorkshire and Humber.
The crew and facilities service will include digital networking opportunities for freelancers - with face-to-face events rolled out as lockdown eases.
Screen Yorkshire chief executive Sally Joynson said it will help mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on workers based in the region.
“This is a critical time for the industry as it emerges from lockdown. We hope that our new crew and facilities service, along with other initiatives, can play a part in getting people back into work and ensure Yorkshire retains its competitive edge,” she added.
“Our new crew and facilities service will give us a platform to showcase the amazingly talented crew and facilities companies and will offer a supportive peer network to help level the playing field for freelancers working the industry.”
Earlier in lockdown, Screen Yorkshire threw a lifeline to the Yorkshire indie community by offering £200,000 of grants.
