Framestore has created a new role of ‘executive producer, commercials’ for executive VFX producer Tim Keene.

The position has been developed to allow Framestore’s commercials clients to benefit from Keene’s stereographic 3D expertise gleaned from his work on the movie Avatar.

Framestore managing director, commercials Helen Stanley said: “Tim’s overall knowledge of the VFX process is staggering. We’re increasingly applying Nuke’s feature film VFX pipeline to commercials, as well at working more at 2K, grading virtually and taking on stereographic 3D commercials. So Tim’s input and knowledge will greatly benefit our commercials clients.”

Keene has been with Framestore since 1997 where he started as longform VFX co-ordinator on Merlin.

After progressing to line producer on Dinotopia, he officially moved into features in 2002 to work as VFX producer on, amongst others, Die Another Day, Love Actually, Mamma Mia and Quantum of Solace.

His most recent credits include Sherlock Holmes and Avatar.
