Broadcast partners with cloud editing platform Blackbird to speed up content delivery to sports fans
Eleven Sports has agreed a two-year contract with cloud video editing platform Blackbird for the rapid editing and publishing of sports content online.
The broadcaster’s OTT platform delivers thousands of hours of sports content to its global subscriber base. It holds rights in different territories for the UEFA Champions League (pictured), Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and League 1, as well as the NBA, NFL, UFC and Formula One.
Eleven Sports will integrate Blackbird into its video infrastructure to enable quick turnaround clipping, editing and publishing of sports content ‘seconds after live’ to its social channels and OTT platforms in Belgium and Portugal.
Eleven Sports head of production, Stevie Rowe, said: “We want to give our fans access to the best sporting moments as quickly as possible and Blackbird will play a big role in helping us do that. They have a great product and we’re really looking forward to working with them.”
Blackbird CEO Ian McDonough, added: “Together Blackbird and Eleven are redefining and reshaping long established business models and industries.”
