NAB 2016: Amazon-owned Elemental Technologies has updated the software in its delivery technology, adding new capabilities for high dynamic range (HDR), virtual reality (VR) and 8K.

Version 2.9, which will be shown at NAB, includes support for the Blu-ray standard HDR10, encoding options for creating and delivering UHD HEVC for immersive VR, and support for fi le-based 8K video processing at 120p.

Other new features include compatibility with SMPTE 2022-6 and SMPTE 2022-5 forward error correction and server-side ad insertion using the VAST protocol.
