The DTG (Digital Television Group) has called on the BBC to champion innovation and open standards.

In answer to the question about the future role the BBC should have in the technological landscape in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) charter renewal consultation, the DTG stated it should:

“Fulfil the function of a champion for innovation in digital and wireless communication, play a leading role related to technology standards and use of spectrum, retain a mass of technical knowledge to support a worldclass infrastructure, and support open technology standards.”
